Jim Rico - Pastor

Pastor Jim has lived in Wakeman with his wife, Rachael, for the last eight years and has resided in Lorain, Vermilion and Kipton. Jim is a 1995 graduate of the University of Akron and a (2020, 2022) graduate of Liberty University.  Jim has worked in various ministry positions for the last 10 years, the most recent was as an assistant pastor at Kipton Community Church.  He and his family like to camp, kayak and tend to their Koi pond.  He can be found at most  Akron Zips football home games with Rachael and his two children, Daniel and Madelyn.

Alison Stewart - Children's Ministry Coordinator

Alison is excited to be serving as Children's Ministry Coordinator at the Florence Church and comes well-qualified for the position.  Born in Akron, Ohio, Alison attended Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy and graduated from BGSU in 2010 with her teaching license.  Her experience is quite varied having taught in the Columbus area (both online and in person), done substitute teaching in public schools, taught learning-challenged students, and taught English to Chinese students.  Her passion for teaching remains today as she tutors math online to elementary and middle schoolers.  Alison and her husband, Scott, moved to the Florence Area in 2017 when Scott took a new job at Concast.  They have two children, Annalee and Adelyn.  Little known fact about Alison – she once coached a high school ultimate frisbee team.
